Service. All of us experience service as we move through each day. What we often overlook is the fact that each of you are experiencing two services! The first one is what you receive and the most significant one is the one you give! There is a symmetry to many things in our lives and what you give is often much more important than what you receive. I experienced two gifts yesterday – the first was awakening with a dreadful toothache and sending a note to my Dentist to see about an appointment Monday. To my surprise I got a call and was asked to come to her office where she provided treatment that has left me much more comfortable this morning. The second was filling my car with gas - the attendant was so focused on eating potato chips that they did not speak nor pay much attention to the task at hand. Two quite different versions of service. For each of us our goal should be to provide better service than we receive – as you go through August looking toward a new school and business year in September assess what you can do to elevate your services to all!
