Initiative. Many of you know that I am passionate about the fight to prevent and cure diabetes. Our medical team in Bermuda brought in several people from both the American and Canadian Diabetes Associations last week and together with a diverse group of medical and lay people spent several days reviewing options, ideas, plans, and initiatives that can be taken to stem the significant increase in diabetes among our young people on the island. The energy that was evident and the ideas and plans that were developed aptly demonstrated how a group can make a huge difference. What can you do in the areas you care about to initiate actions that can make our community a better place for all of us?
