Speed bumps. Although there are expectations that the economies around the world will recover in time the events of the past few weeks have continued to highlight the fragile nature of this recovery. In Bermuda we are facing the most difficult time, some people say, since the end of the war. There is little doubt that there are major issues and that the once great "comfort zone" that Bermuda enjoyed had disappeared. These major speed bumps on the road to recovery can have a significant impact on the people who are involved with them. What is critical is to remember is that history proves that these do end and that you can create great things again. Opportunities exist for those who want to make things happen to take new ideas and new pproaches and develop new businesses that can be successful. Each of us has to play our part in making these things happen.
