Along the rail. For the first time in many years I did not watch the Kentucky Derby this past Saturday. I did, however, watch the replays of the race and was surprised to see that the winning jockey was the same chap who has now won three of the last four derbies. He has a simple formula. He gets his horse to rail as quickly as he can and simply stays there until he finds an opening and then kicks the horse into a higher gear and dashes past them to get to the wire first. This is a great example of having a unique ability and sticking with your game plan until it works. Everyone knows he will do this but he stills manages to work his magic as he has a great sense of timing and he has travelled less distance than the other horses. What do you do in your life that keeps you “along the rail?”
