Leaders. It seems to me that at this stage in our history we need leaders who lead and provide direction and vision to their communities. Historically crises seem to have provided such leaders be it people like Churchill, Roosevelt, Mandela and others. How far away that seems to us now in the 21st century. Politics, privilege and what’s in it for me seem to have taken over so that we look at many of our leaders and just shake our heads. One can then only conclude that the real leadership has to come from the people. Each of us in our own way has to take responsibility for making good things happen in our circle of influence. If each of us was to do this then change would take place and new leaders would emerge who actually would represent the people. So pick up your banner and continue to make things happen.
" The leader seeks to communicate his vision to his followers. He captures their attention with his optimistic intuition of possible solutions to their needs. He influences them by the dynamism of his faith. He demonstrates confidence that the challenge can be met, the need resolved, the crisis overcome. "
